English Consultancy offers bespoke online teacher training. In the current climate of blended and fully online teaching, we provide training for both recently qualified and experienced online teachers which better enables them to enhance and encompass the "new normal of teaching". 

 

Our training courses are aimed at both the EFL and state school teacher markets and can be tailored to the specific needs of individual schools. All the training is delivered by an experienced and highly qualified English language professional, Richard Twigg, who also specialises in IELTS (International English Language Testing System) coaching, for both test takers and teachers. Are you a teacher who needs to find out more about IELTS or how best to prepare your students? I can arrange workshops for small groups of teachers focusing on one or more of the 4 skills.

IELTS Preparation

The most popular high stakes English test. In my experience Italians struggle the most with the two writing tasks. I can help you to identify your weaknesses as well as strengths so that you can work on these in your own time and at your own pace. This applies to all 4 parts of the test and not only the writing, should that be what you need.

Do you need to improve your English for pleasure? Do you need to get a better score at school. Let me know what you wish to achieve and I will advise you on the best course of action.

Support and coaching for any situation for individuals or small groups. Proofreading, consulting, presentation preparation, interview coaching, help writing your CV in English, preparing a covering letter, university letter of motivation.

Study Abroad

Interested in studying at a university in the UK, the Netherlands or Denmark? I can assist you on a pro-bono basis which includes provision of guidelines, assistance in choosing universities and review of application documents, along with the submission of UCAS Applications.

Richard Twigg

English Language Expert

Richard started teaching in 1981 as an Officer Instructor in the South African Defence Force. In 1998 he attended Huddersfield University in the United Kingdom where he obtained his Cert Ed (Further Education) after which he taught in the Hospitality and Leisure department at York College. In 2005 he decided to move to Malta and prior to this move he took the CELTA in York and two years later he passed the Delta in Malta. 

 

Richard has been a teacher, director of studies, teacher trainer and IELTS Test Centre administrator for International House in both Malta and Milan. In addition he is a presenter for both Cambridge Assessment English and Macmillan Education.
